MURIC Hails Atiku’s Vibrancy, Resilience, Says He Remains Man to Watch in 2027

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has commended former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for what it described as his vibrancy, versatility and resilience as the 2027 general elections draw closer.

MURIC’s Executive Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, gave the commendation in a statement on Tuesday, saying Atiku’s political doggedness and approach to opposition politics deserved recognition.

According to the group, despite having contested the presidency six times in the past, Atiku has remained unrelenting in his political ambition, describing his persistence as “legendary.”

MURIC particularly praised the former Vice President for what it called the dynamism of his approach in interrogating the activities and policies of the current administration.

“The young generation of politicians have a lot to learn from his approach as an opposition figure,” the group said.

MURIC described Atiku as an experienced, articulate, bold and enterprising politician, adding that he had been ahead of Labour Party’s Peter Obi in mounting political opposition to the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

“Atiku comes across as an experienced, articulate, bold and enterprising politician. He has been far ahead of Peter Obi in giving the Tinubu administration a run for its money although some Nigerians are yet to appreciate his efforts.

“He remains the man to watch in 2027,” MURIC stated.

The organisation, however, clarified that its commendation should not be interpreted as an endorsement of Atiku or any other presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 elections.

“MURIC has no preferred candidate or political party yet. We will speak on that at the appropriate time,” Akintola said.
