Ban on Motorcycles: FCT Police activate enforcement exercise

Following the ban of motorcycles in some parts of the FCT by the FCTA, the FCT Command have held several meetings with the various heads of motorcycle units across the Territory, activated an enforcement exercise at the various Divisional and Area command AORs.   Today 26th July 2022,operatives of the Durumi Divisional Police Headquarters arrested motorcycles numbered about 20 for violating the ban.    The motorcycles were taken to the Division and subsequently handed over to the VIO for screening. Buhari asks Senate to confirm 19 nominees as INEC Commissioners 

President Muhammadu Buhari has written the Senate to confirm 19 nominees as Resident Electoral Commissioners for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).   The confirmation request to the upper chamber was contained in a letter dated 25th July, 2022.   The letter was read at plenary by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan.   President Buhari, in the letter, said that the request for the confirmation of the nominees was in accordance with the Provisions of Section 154 (1) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).…
