CARSPO 2026: IGP Disu Hails Lenders Consult CEO, Shina Phillips, Over Professionalism

Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Disu, has commended the Chief Executive Officer of Lenders Consult, Dr. Shina Phillips, for his professionalism and contribution to the successful organisation of the 2026 Conference on Police and Security Operations (CARSPO).

Disu gave the commendation while speaking on his experience at CARSPO 2026, where he expressed satisfaction with the organisation and smooth conduct of the programme.

The IGP particularly praised Phillips for ensuring the professional presentation and seamless running of the conference, noting that the programme had progressed without hitches.

He also commended Lenders Consult for putting together what he described as an impressive programme, saying he was satisfied with both the organisation of the conference and the calibre of experts assembled to share their knowledge and experiences.

Describing CARSPO 2026 as a wonderful initiative, Disu said some of his initial concerns about the programme were dispelled after witnessing the quality of lecturers and experts participating in the conference.

He highlighted the participation of retired senior police officers, including two former Inspectors-General of Police, who shared their experiences and perspectives on national security and issues surrounding the 2027 general elections.

According to him, retired Inspector-General of Police, Usman Ali Baba, drew extensively from his experience during the 2023 general elections to provide participants with insights, solutions and advice on addressing emerging security and electoral challenges.

Disu said Baba also encouraged participants to return to their respective communities and replicate the kind of engagement and knowledge-sharing witnessed at CARSPO 2026.

The IGP described the lectures delivered at the conference as stimulating, didactic and educative, adding that participating police officers were pleased to be part of the programme.

He noted that the conference provided an important platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences among serving and retired security professionals, particularly on contemporary security challenges and preparations for the 2027 elections.
