The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has charged Air Component Commanders across the operational theatres of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to sustain intelligence-led, coordinated and effective air operations in the ongoing efforts to safeguard Nigeria’s territorial integrity and national security.
Aneke gave the charge during a strategic engagement with Air Component Commanders, where operational activities across the various theatres were reviewed, with emphasis on mission effectiveness, emerging security challenges and measures to further strengthen the NAF’s operational capabilities.
The engagement provided an opportunity for the commanders to brief the CAS on activities within their respective theatres, highlighting operational achievements, ongoing efforts and areas requiring further attention.
The CAS commended the commanders and their personnel for their dedication, professionalism and sacrifices in the service of the nation. He urged them to sustain the momentum of ongoing operations, sharpen their operational focus and maintain the high standards expected of the Service.
Air Marshal Aneke stressed the importance of maintaining a proactive and predictive operational posture anchored on sound intelligence, effective coordination and continuous assessment of the evolving security environment.
He further emphasised the need for close cooperation with sister Services and other security agencies to ensure effective response to emerging threats and enhance the overall impact of joint security operations.
The CAS assured Nigerians that the NAF remains resolute in fulfilling its constitutional responsibility of protecting the nation and its people, while continuously adapting its operations to emerging security realities.
He reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to maintaining vigilance and operational readiness as it works with other security agencies to create a safer environment across the country.
The engagement underscored the CAS’s drive to strengthen intelligence-driven air operations and ensure that the NAF remains focused, responsive and effective in the defence of Nigeria.
