The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has described the forthcoming Nigeria-Saudi Diaspora Investment and Tourism Exhibition Summit as a strategic platform to strengthen economic relations between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia through increased investment, trade and tourism.
Speaking through the Commission’s Secretary, Dr. Sule Yakubu Bassi, at a pre-event media conference held at the NiDCOM headquarters in Abuja, Dabiri-Erewa said the summit would help address misconceptions about investing in both countries while highlighting opportunities for businesses, investors and other stakeholders.
The second edition of the summit is themed, “The Misconceptions, Challenges, and Opportunities in Investing in Saudi Arabia and Nigeria Today.”
She recalled that the maiden edition in 2019 attracted more than 30 Saudi Arabian companies, describing the initiative as timely and capable of deepening bilateral investment relations.
Dabiri-Erewa also commended the organisers, Al Yaro International Limited, for consistently promoting investment opportunities and business visibility between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
Also speaking, Hon. Abdulrahman Terab, Head of Department, Technology Transfer, Innovation and Investment, said the summit was carefully designed to give participants a clearer understanding of the investment climate in both countries while fostering productive business partnerships.
According to him, although Nigeria and Saudi Arabia have enjoyed long-standing diplomatic, cultural and socio-economic relations, there is a need to translate those ties into stronger economic cooperation.
Terab said participants would have opportunities to explore investments in key sectors, including agriculture, real estate, technology transfer, trade and tourism, urging Nigerians and other stakeholders to take advantage of the summit.
One of the organisers, Mr. Muhammed Umar Yaro, announced that the exhibition would hold on August 4 and 5, 2026, at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja.
Yaro said the two-day event aims to unlock investment opportunities and provide a platform for policymakers, investors and business leaders to discuss strategies for expanding trade and commercial relations between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
He disclosed that the summit is expected to attract more than 100 exhibitors, about 5,000 visitors and representatives from 20 investment sectors, with discussions focusing on energy, agriculture, real estate, tourism and manufacturing.
He encouraged interested participants to register through the official event portal to participate in the exhibition and investment discussions.
Yaro also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima and NiDCOM Chairman, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, for their continued support towards the success of the initiative.
The exhibition is organised by Al Yaro International Company in collaboration with NiDCOM, Almanafie, the Association of Nigerians in Diaspora, Saudi Arabia (ANDiSA), and Suruh Alhijaz.
