The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has appealed to members of the public for information that could help reunite a six-year-old boy, identified as Haneem Hussaini Bello, with his family.
According to a statement issued by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, on Friday, Haneem said he travelled to Abuja from Bauchi State with his mother and siblings for the summer break.
The child reportedly became separated from his mother and siblings while they were at the Central Mosque for Juma’a prayer and was unable to find his way back to them.
He was subsequently found wandering around NNPC Towers, Central Business District, Abuja, at about 3:00 p.m. on September 4, 2026, while crying.
The Police said Haneem was wearing carton-coloured trousers and a brown shirt with black and white stripes on the left side when he was found.
The Command said the child is currently in Police custody while efforts are ongoing to trace his parents or other relatives and reunite him with his family.
The FCT Police therefore urged anyone with useful information about the boy or his family to report to the nearest Police Station or contact the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer on 07038979348.
SP Adeh assured that the Command would continue its efforts to ensure the safe reunification of the child with his family.
