The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, is set to launch the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Vigilant App and MTN Closed User Group (CUG) Network on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, in Abuja.

The launch will take place at the Nigeria Police Resource Centre, Federal Capital Territory, and forms part of ongoing efforts by the Force to strengthen technology-driven policing, improve communication and enhance operational efficiency.

The NPF Vigilant App is expected to improve engagement, information sharing and communication between the Police and members of the public, providing a technology-enabled platform to support more responsive policing.

Similarly, the MTN CUG Network will provide a dedicated communication platform for personnel of the Force, with the aim of facilitating seamless and efficient internal communication and coordination.

According to the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, the initiative underscored IGP Disu’s commitment to leveraging modern technology and strategic partnerships to improve policing and service delivery.

The Nigeria Police Force said the deployment of the digital platforms reflects its broader commitment to innovation and technology in strengthening operational effectiveness and providing more responsive, efficient and people-centred security services to Nigerians.

The launch is expected to further deepen collaboration between the Police, technology partners and the public in the drive to modernise policing and enhance security across the country.
