Julius Berger to Convene Stakeholders in Lagos for 2026 Luminary Soirée

Julius Berger Nigeria Plc is set to convene senior stakeholders from the development, engineering, finance, public and private sectors at its 2026 Luminary Soirée, scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, in Lagos.

The event, themed “The Lagos Proposition | Unlocking Value in a City in Transformation,” will examine emerging investment opportunities, infrastructure needs and development trends shaping the future of Lagos as the city expands beyond its traditional growth corridors.

Discussions will focus on areas where value creation is increasingly concentrated across the Lagos development landscape, the capital and enabling infrastructure required to sustain growth, and the capacity of the construction and engineering sector to deliver projects at the scale, speed and quality demanded by the market.

The programme will feature opening remarks by the Managing Director of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, Engr. Dr. Peer Lubasch, followed by a keynote address from a senior representative of the Lagos State Government.

A high-level panel, moderated by Arise News Channel anchor Ayo Mairo-Ese, will bring together practitioners in master planning, consulting engineering and institutional real estate to examine the development value chain, from land strategy and urban planning to engineering execution and the delivery of sustainable, income-generating assets.

Key issues expected to feature include the emergence of premium development districts beyond Lagos’ established Island and Mainland markets, government-private sector collaboration in delivering enabling infrastructure, strategies for meeting the needs of the underserved middle-income market, and innovations and standards required to ensure quality project delivery across market segments.

Speaking ahead of the event, Filipe Lopes of Julius Berger’s Strategic Business Development Unit said the forum reflects the company’s commitment to contributing to conversations shaping urban growth and development in Nigeria.

“Lagos continues to evolve at an unprecedented pace. New growth corridors are emerging, investment patterns are shifting, and demand is creating opportunities in locations that were not traditionally viewed as focal points for development,” Lopes said.

He added that infrastructure, engineering capability and delivery excellence must evolve alongside the city’s transformation.

According to him, “The Lagos Proposition” provides an opportunity to examine where long-term value is being created and what is required to support sustainable, high-quality development at scale.

The Luminary Soirée has become one of Julius Berger’s flagship stakeholder engagement platforms, bringing together policymakers, investors, developers, consultants, financiers and other industry leaders to exchange ideas and explore practical approaches to challenges confronting Nigeria’s built environment.

Through the initiative, Julius Berger said it is extending its contribution beyond project execution by supporting policy engagement, informed dialogue and market-driven discussions capable of influencing the quality, sustainability and long-term impact of development across Nigeria.
