Ministry of Interior Celebrates 31 Retiring Officers, Commends 35 Years of Service

The Ministry of Interior has celebrated 31 retiring officers for their dedication, sacrifices and contributions to national development, commending their 35 years of service to the country.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, gave the commendation on Wednesday at a send-forth ceremony organised for the retirees at Silver Green Hotels, Gudu, Abuja.

Ajani, who conveyed the goodwill and best wishes of the Minister of Interior to the retirees, described their years of service as a lasting investment in the future of the nation.

She expressed appreciation to the officers for dedicating 35 years of their lives to the service of the country, noting that their contributions would continue to make a positive impact on future generations.

The Permanent Secretary urged the retirees to remain grateful to God, prioritise their health and make full use of their health insurance cover during retirement.

She also encouraged them to strengthen their relationships with their families, contribute meaningfully to their communities and mentor younger generations.

Ajani advised the retirees to consider small businesses and other productive ventures that could enhance their financial independence, rather than relying solely on their children for support.

According to her, retirement should be viewed as an opportunity to begin a new chapter of life, remain active and continue contributing to society through service to God and humanity.

Earlier, the Director of Human Resource Management, Mrs. Catherine Zozi, commended the retiring officers for their commitment and valuable contributions to the Ministry.

Zozi wished the retirees good health, peace, happiness and a fulfilling retirement, assuring them that their years of service and contributions would remain appreciated by the Ministry and the nation.

She noted that the seeds of service sown by the retirees would continue to benefit future generations.
