The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has graduated 23 Airmen and Airwomen from the Cabin Crew Initial Course 2/2026, strengthening its capacity for safe, professional and effective aviation operations.
The graduation ceremony, held on September 4, 2026, at the Air Traffic Services Training Centre (ATSTC), Kaduna, marked another milestone in the training and development of personnel equipped to meet the demands of military and civil aviation.
Representing the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, the Air Officer Commanding, Air Training Command, Air Vice Marshal Essen Paul Effanga, said aviation safety remained a direct product of rigorous training, strict adherence to professional standards and demonstrated competence.
Effanga charged the graduates to maintain high standards of discipline, integrity and professionalism, stressing that their responsibilities went beyond passenger service to include the safety, security and survival of aircraft occupants during routine and emergency operations.
He noted that the knowledge and skills acquired during the course would be critical to the personnel’s effectiveness in supporting aviation operations, particularly in challenging and demanding environments.
The Commandant of ATSTC, Air Vice Marshal NB Folaji, reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to maintaining its position as a centre of excellence in aviation training and producing competent, disciplined and mission-ready personnel.
The graduates received training in key areas including cabin safety, emergency management, first aid, aviation security and survival techniques.
The competencies, according to the NAF, would enhance the personnel’s ability to support safe and efficient air operations, including the movement of personnel and the execution of aviation duties in demanding operational environments.
The Service said the training would also contribute to broader counter-terrorism, counter-insurgency and internal security operations by strengthening the protection of lives, operational continuity and the effective employment of air power.
The graduation underscored the NAF’s continued investment in human capacity development as a critical component of aviation safety and operational readiness.
