The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has strengthened its executive airlift capability with the qualification of Group Captain SB Isijola as an aircraft captain on the Citation Sovereign 680.
Isijola, who serve as the Group Operations Officer of 307 Executive Airlift Group (307 EAG), successfully completed his captaincy training after logging more than 230 flying hours on the aircraft platform.

The qualification marks another milestone in the NAF’s ongoing efforts to develop highly skilled personnel and maintain the professional standards required for safe, efficient and effective air operations.
The achievement was celebrated with the traditional aviation “Shower of Honour”, a ceremony that recognises significant milestones in the career progression of military pilots. The occasion also highlighted the discipline, teamwork, rigorous training and institutional support involved in preparing NAF personnel for increased operational responsibilities.
Speaking at the event, the Commander, 307 EAG, Air Commodore OA Oluwatayo, described Isijola’s qualification as a reflection of the NAF’s commitment to professional development and continuous capability building.
Oluwatayo also expressed appreciation to the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, for his sustained support for capacity building, career progression and the recognition of professional excellence within the Service.
With the new qualification, Group Captain Isijola is expected to contribute further to the operational capacity of 307 EAG, particularly in providing safe, efficient and reliable executive airlift services in support of national assignments.
The development underscored the NAF’s continued investment in human capital as a critical component of operational readiness and effective air power employment.
