The Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Oshodi, Lagos, has conducted its 3rd Quarter Route March, with the Commandant, Air Vice Marshal Nnaemeka Ignatius Ilo, urging personnel to remain physically fit, disciplined and committed to defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity.
The 10-kilometre route march, which involved personnel of the Centre, was organised to enhance physical fitness, endurance and discipline, while strengthening the stamina and operational readiness required of military personnel.
Speaking at the end of the exercise, Air Vice Marshal Ilo commended the personnel for their resilience and active participation, stressing that physical fitness remains essential to their overall wellbeing and effectiveness in the discharge of military duties.
The Commandant noted that the security and territorial integrity of Nigeria is a collective responsibility that must be diligently guarded, urging personnel to remain steadfast, fit and alert at all times.
He also emphasised the importance of discipline as a fundamental attribute of the military profession, charging personnel to sustain high standards of conduct both within and outside the Centre.
Air Vice Marshal Ilo further urged the personnel not to regard the quarterly route march as the end of their fitness activities, but to make regular physical exercise a continuous part of their daily routine.
He charged them to remain committed to their duties and uphold the responsibility of protecting the civil populace, stressing that their discipline, preparedness and vigilance are critical to maintaining a safe and secure Nigeria.
