NAFTRAC Participants Boost Joint Capability Through Army, Navy Engagements

Participants of the Nigerian Air Force Type Rating Course (NAFTRAC) 01/26 have strengthened their technical knowledge and understanding of joint operations through inter-Service engagements with the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Navy.

The participants, undergoing training at the 041 Communications and Information Systems (CIS) Depot, Shasha, Lagos, undertook technical visits to the Nigerian Army Signal School (NASS), Apapa, on August 19, 2026, and the Naval Dockyard, Lagos, on August 20.

The visits provided the participants with practical exposure to military communication systems, signal operations, naval communications and technical maintenance practices, complementing their classroom instruction with real-world operational applications.

The engagements also enhanced the participants’ understanding of the capabilities, procedures and operational requirements of the sister Services, thereby promoting professional knowledge-sharing, interoperability and preparedness for joint operations.

The initiative is in line with the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke’s, key driver of Capability Development, which focuses on building a highly skilled, technically competent and mission-ready force through continuous professional development and effective inter-Service cooperation.

The engagements underscore the importance of joint training and professional exchange in strengthening Nigeria’s overall military capability and operational readiness.
