NICOWA Schools Celebrate Academic Excellence at 14th Graduation Ceremony

NICOWA Schools, Abuja, has reaffirmed its commitment to academic excellence and character development with the successful hosting of its 14th Speech, Prize Giving and Graduation Ceremony.

The colourful event brought together parents, educators, stakeholders and distinguished guests to celebrate outstanding academic achievements and the graduation of another set of pupils prepared for higher academic pursuits.

The Controller-General of Corrections, Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, attended as special guest and presented awards to graduating students as well as exceptional pupils in the Nursery and Primary sections who distinguished themselves academically.

Representing the National President of the Nigerian Correctional Officer’s Wives Association (NICOWA), Mrs. Victoria Nwakuche, the Vice President, Hajia Hadiza Mohammed Idris, commended the school’s management for its unwavering commitment to quality education, character building and the holistic development of children. She reaffirmed NICOWA’s continued support for educational initiatives aimed at nurturing future leaders.

Speaking at the event, Nwakuche expressed appreciation to parents and guardians for their confidence in the institution and for entrusting the education of their children to NICOWA Schools.

He also praised the management, teachers and staff for their dedication and professionalism in producing pupils who excel both academically and morally.

Addressing the graduating students, the Controller-General urged them to uphold the values instilled in them by the school and remain worthy ambassadors wherever they go.

“As you leave this great institution for the next phase of your academic journey, be good ambassadors of your school. Dream big, work hard and aim as high as possible. The world is yours to conquer, and with determination, integrity and excellence, there are no limits to what you can achieve,” he said.

The Controller-General also presented special awards to the NICOWA National President, the Deputy Controller-General in charge of Health and Welfare, the PTA Chairman and the NICOWA National Coordinator in recognition of their contributions to the growth of the school and the promotion of high educational standards.

Delivering the keynote address, guest speaker Dr. Oyekegha Samuel Ekiyeghazi spoke on the theme, “In a World of Distraction: Staying Focused and Finding Purpose.” He encouraged the graduating pupils to remain focused on their dreams despite the distractions of the modern world, stressing that discipline, resilience, purpose and sound values remain essential ingredients for lasting success.

The ceremony featured cultural displays, musical performances, prize presentations, goodwill messages and the symbolic cutting of the graduation cake, marking the successful completion of another academic session.

The event concluded with the graduation of another set of pupils, reinforcing NICOWA Schools’ reputation for promoting academic excellence, discipline, leadership and the development of responsible, globally competitive future leaders.
