Nigeria’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the State of Israel, Ambassador Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu, has officially assumed her diplomatic duties after presenting her Letters of Credence to Isaac Herzog at an official ceremony in Jerusalem on Monday.
The development was announced in a statement issued by the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, who said the presentation of the Letters of Credence formally marks the commencement of Ambassador Ufochukwu’s diplomatic assignment in Israel and reaffirms the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening the longstanding cordial relations between the two countries.
Speaking after the ceremony, Ambassador Ufochukwu expressed her determination to deepen bilateral cooperation between Nigeria and Israel during her tenure. She reaffirmed her commitment to advancing Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives while fostering closer engagement in areas of mutual interest.
She said her mission would prioritise expanding cooperation in trade and investment, agriculture, technology, security, innovation and cultural exchanges, as well as promoting stronger people-to-people ties for the mutual benefit of both nations.
According to the statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed confidence that Ambassador Ufochukwu’s appointment would further consolidate the strategic partnership between Nigeria and Israel, creating new opportunities for enhanced bilateral cooperation and sustainable development.
