NNPC GCEO Ojulari Named Leadership Newspapers’ 2026 Public Sector CEO of the Year

The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.), Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, has been named the Leadership Newspapers CEO of the Year 2026 (Public Sector).

The recognition comes in acknowledgement of the strides recorded by NNPC Ltd. under Ojulari’s leadership since his appointment as GCEO in April 2025.
Under his stewardship, the national oil company has recorded improved revenue and profitability, while sustaining crude oil, condensate and natural gas production.

The company has also completed work on the OB3 gas pipeline, advanced the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) gas pipeline towards completion and maintained upstream pipeline availability at full capacity.
Reacting to the award, Ojulari described the recognition as a reflection of the collective efforts of NNPC Ltd. staff and management, as well as stakeholders who work daily to keep Nigeria’s energy sector moving.
He noted that the achievement should be seen as the fruit of the collective commitment and hard work of the company’s workforce.

The GCEO, however, stressed that the recognition was not an indication that the work was over, noting that “there is more work ahead” as NNPC Ltd. continues to pursue its mandate of strengthening Nigeria’s energy sector.

The award further highlighted the ongoing transformation and performance drive within NNPC Ltd. as the company seek to deliver sustainable value to Nigeria and its stakeholders.
