NNPC Limited recorded a profit after tax of ₦535 billion in June 2026, representing a 15.8 per cent increase over the ₦462 billion posted in May, according to the company’s June 2026 Monthly Financial and Operations Report.
The report showed that the national energy company generated ₦4.389 trillion in revenue during the month, while its cumulative statutory remittances to the Federation from January to June 2026 rose to ₦6.286 trillion, highlighting its continued contribution to national revenue.
Crude oil and condensate production recorded a marginal decline to 1.72 million barrels per day, down from 1.73 million barrels per day in May. NNPC attributed the slight drop to operational disruptions, facility integrity issues and subsurface challenges across some production assets.
On the gas front, the company reported improved performance, with natural gas production increasing to 7.841 million standard cubic feet per day, compared to 7.774 million standard cubic feet per day in May, reflecting a 0.86 per cent increase.
NNPC also announced significant progress on its strategic gas infrastructure projects.
The Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) Gas Pipeline has reached 98 per cent completion, with final tie-in works ongoing ahead of the planned First Gas delivery in August 2026.
Similarly, the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline advanced to 94 per cent completion, keeping the project on track for early gas delivery to Abuja later in 2026.
The company said the positive financial performance and steady progress on key gas projects reinforce its commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s energy security, expanding domestic gas utilisation and sustaining value creation for the nation.
