Seven NAF Officers Shine at Ghana Staff College, Sanda Emerges Best Allied Graduate

Seven Nigerian Air Force (NAF) officers have distinguished themselves at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC), following the successful completion of Course 47, with Squadron Leader AM Sanda emerging as the Best Allied Graduate.

The course, which also marked the 50th anniversary of the College, brought together 90 officers comprising 64 officers from the Ghana Armed Forces and 26 officers from 14 allied African countries.

The participating countries included Benin, Botswana, Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia, Malawi, Morocco, Namibia, Nigeria, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Tanzania and Togo.

Nigeria was represented by nine officers of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, comprising seven NAF officers and two Nigerian Navy officers.

The Nigerian contingent recorded an impressive performance throughout the course, with Squadron Leader Sanda earning the prestigious Best Allied Graduate award for outstanding academic performance, broad military knowledge, professional competence and leadership ability.

The recognition underscored the professionalism, intellectual capacity and commitment to excellence demonstrated by NAF officers in professional military education.

It also reflected the Nigerian Air Force’s deliberate investment in developing strategically minded, operationally capable and mission-ready personnel equipped to respond effectively to complex and evolving security challenges.

Beyond the individual accomplishment, Nigeria’s participation in Course 47 further demonstrated its commitment to regional integration, collective security and stability across Africa.

The course also provided an important platform for professional military education, strategic exchanges and interaction among officers from participating countries, thereby strengthening interoperability, mutual understanding and military-to-military cooperation.

The emergence of Squadron Leader Sanda as Best Allied Graduate is therefore not only a personal achievement but also a significant institutional accomplishment for the Nigerian Air Force.

It further highlighted the Service’s growing emphasis on professional excellence, strategic leadership and continuous capacity development in support of Nigeria’s national security objectives and broader regional security efforts.
