The Executive Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Dr. Tony Ojukwu has revealed that the Sub- Committee on Accreditation (SCA) of the global re-accreditation Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI) has recommended the NHRC “A status” at their just concluded meeting in Geneva. The Paris Principles Relating to the Status of National Human Rights Institutions’ set out the minimum standards that NHRIs must meet in order to be considered credible and to operate effectively.
