Court grants Emefiele bail

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, has granted the former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele, bail. The court presided over by Justice Adeniyi, ruled that the embattled bank chief should be released to his counsel and must be produced in court when needed. Also, he ordered Emefiele to deposit all his travel documents with the court’s registrar.

Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has granted the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele, bail.   Justice Oweibo granted him bail to the sum of N20 million with two sureties in like sum.   The judge had rejected the claim by DSS that it had not received a copy of the bail application filed by Emefiele, saying that there was evidence that the government was served.   Mr. J.
