16 killed in Abia pipeline explosion

The pipeline explosions in Abia State on Friday that caused the death of at least 16 people may have been caused by oil thieves, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) said on Friday. PREMIUM TIMES reported the fire in Osisioma Local Government Area of the Abia State. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps,NSCDC Niger state command said no life was lost after the search and rescue operations at scene of the recent Pipeline explosion that occurred in Dangodagbe, Niger state. NSCDC in a statement signed by Ibrahim Yahaya,Public Relations officer,Niger state Command,, however said three persons who sustained severe injury at the scene of the burst pipeline have been evacuated to the hospital for comprehensive medical treatment.
