TCN Announces 3-Hour Power Disruption in Kubwa, Bwari Over Maintenance

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a three-hour power supply disruption in parts of Kubwa, Bwari and adjoining areas of Abuja on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, due to scheduled preventive maintenance at the Kubwa 132/33kV Transmission Substation.

TCN said the annual maintenance exercise will be carried out on the Gwarimpa-Kubwa 132/33kV Line 1 bay switchgear and associated equipment between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

According to the company, the exercise will temporarily prevent the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) from off-taking electricity supply to customers in the affected areas during the maintenance period.

TCN explained that the intervention is part of its annual preventive maintenance programme aimed at ensuring the reliability and operational efficiency of its transmission infrastructure.

The company apologised to electricity consumers in Kubwa, Bwari and surrounding communities for the inconvenience the temporary disruption may cause.

TCN urged affected customers to make necessary arrangements ahead of the scheduled maintenance.
