The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has recorded significant progress in the ongoing restoration of the 330kV Kainji–Birnin Kebbi Transmission Line following the recent collapse of tower T367 along the transmission corridor.
TCN, in an update signed by its Management on Wednesday, said restoration activities at the affected location in Yauri had advanced considerably, with key preparatory works completed ahead of the next phase of the rehabilitation.
According to the company, the collapsed transmission tower has been completely dismantled and decommissioned, while the conductors and skywire have been properly aligned and prepared for further restoration works.
The company also disclosed that an Emergency Restoration System (ERS) tower had been moved to the affected site and was ready for installation.
The installation of the ERS tower will be followed by cable stringing and other associated works required to restore the affected section of the transmission line.
TCN said its engineers and technical personnel remained actively engaged at the site, working to ensure the speedy completion of the restoration and the return of normal bulk transmission.
The transmission company expressed appreciation to electricity consumers and other stakeholders affected by the incident for their patience and understanding, assuring them that every effort was being made to restore the line and normal transmission operations as soon as possible.
