TCN Restores Power at Apo Transmission Substation After Transformer Trip

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has restored power supply at the Apo Transmission Substation in Abuja following the restoration of its 100MVA power transformer which tripped earlier on Wednesday.

TCN said the transformer was restored at about 7:33pm on September 9, 2026, after comprehensive tests and maintenance were carried out on the equipment.

With the restoration, the affected 33kV feeders H31, H33, H35 and H37 have been returned to service.

Consequently, bulk electricity supply to customers of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) connected to the affected feeders has been fully restored.

The transmission company appreciated electricity customers for their patience and understanding during the outage, assuring the public of its continued commitment to maintaining stable and reliable power transmission across the country.
