TCN Restores Power Through Kwanar Dangora 40MVA Transformer

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has restored power supply through the 40MVA, 132/33kV transformer at its Kwanar Dangora Transmission Substation in Kano State.

TCN’s Kano Region disclosed that the transformer, designated TR1, was successfully restored at 5:02pm on Thursday, September 24, 2026, following the replacement of a faulty 170kVA earthing transformer that had caused the earlier outage.

According to the company, the replacement work was completed alongside the necessary technical checks, after which the 40MVA power transformer was successfully energised.

The restoration has consequently returned electricity supply to the affected 33kV feeders, easing the disruption experienced by customers within the affected areas.

TCN appreciated the patience and understanding of customers of the Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDC) during the period of the outage.

The transmission company also apologised for the inconvenience caused by the interruption and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining reliable transmission infrastructure and improving electricity supply.
