The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has restored electricity supply through the Aba-Itu 132kV Transmission Line following the completion of repairs to a damaged conductor on the line.
The restoration was achieved at about 7:02 p.m. on Tuesday, after TCN engineers completed work to amend the red-phase cut jumper conductor on Tower 142.
According to a statement issued by TCN Management, the fault had caused a temporary interruption of electricity supply from 10:38 a.m. to 7:02 p.m., affecting several areas within the coverage of the line.
With the restoration of the transmission line, the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC) can now resume electricity off-take for distribution to customers in Uyo, Eket, Ekim and Itu, which were affected by the outage.
TCN apologised to electricity consumers in the affected areas for the inconvenience caused by the temporary interruption, while confirming that supply has now been restored.
The transmission company thanked affected customers for their patience and understanding during the repair period.
