TCN Unveils Anti-Corruption Policy to Strengthen Accountability, Ethical Conduct

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has unveiled its Anti-Corruption Policy Document as part of efforts to strengthen transparency, accountability, integrity and ethical conduct across the organisation.

The policy document was unveiled on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the TCN Corporate Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja, by the Company’s Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU).

Speaking at the event, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of TCN, Engr. Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz, represented by the Executive Director, Human Resources and Corporate Services, Mrs. Abiodun Afolabi-Fadahunsi, described the initiative as a significant step towards reinforcing the company’s commitment to ethical standards and zero tolerance for corrupt practices.

Abdulaziz said TCN’s credibility depended not only on what it achieved but also on how it achieved its objectives, urging staff to familiarise themselves with the provisions of the policy and reflect them in their daily decisions and conduct.

He commended the TCN ACTU and others who contributed to developing the document, noting that its purpose goes beyond preventing corruption to promoting a culture of honesty, fairness, accountability, transparency and professionalism within the organisation.

The TCN chief executive also called on members of staff to support the effective implementation of the policy and uphold its principles in the discharge of their responsibilities.

Earlier, Chairman of TCN ACTU, Mrs. E. Benibo, said the unveiling represented more than the presentation of a policy document, describing it as a demonstration of the collective commitment of management and staff to strengthening integrity, transparency and accountability.

Benibo noted that corruption weakens institutions, undermines public trust and wastes valuable resources, stressing that combating corrupt practices requires the commitment and participation of every member of staff.

Also speaking, the representative of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and ACTU Desk Officer attached to TCN, Mrs. Monsurat Ajoke Ifeajika, presented an overview of the policy document and highlighted its role in influencing conduct, guiding decisions and strengthening institutional systems.

She explained that the policies provide guidance on preventing, detecting, reporting and responding to unethical and corrupt practices.

The highlight of the occasion was the formal unveiling of the TCN Anti-Corruption Policy Document, which the company said would serve as a framework for promoting ethical conduct and strengthening accountability across its operations.
