One week after the Presidential directive to Telcos to reverse the new 10% increase in Data charge , the service providers and NCC management had flayed the directive.
This is coming as the data users groaned under intense pain with customers spending more than ten times on hourly, daily , weekly basis.
A recharge of an average 1000 data that originally lasts for one month, but been used by users for barely one week , can hardly take an hour online.
The ugly development will be compounded when the FIRS begin to charge online transactions to mop up the tax elements.
With this negative trend, the cost of services for data users had gone up astronomically, with providers of the classified services bearing the heavy brunt .
The data users are however appealing to the federal government to compel stakeholders to heed the presidential directive, that ordered the reversal without further delay , to discourage data users losing their businesses.
It is high time the Minister of Communication, Digital Economy, NCC management and NITDA act in line with the President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive.
