Senator representing Imo East and a member of the Labour Party (LP), Ezenwa Onyewuchi,has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).   Onyewuchi’s defection letter was read on the floor of the Red chamber by Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Tuesday.   Hope Uzodimma, governor of Imo and chair of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), was in the chamber when the letter was read.

JUST IN: Senator Ndume removed as Senate Chief whip

The lawmaker representing Borno South in the Senate, Senator Ali Ndume has been removed as the Senate Chief Whip.   Senator Tahir Monguno has immediately taken over as his replacement.   Ndume’s removal came following an order issued to that effect in a letter written by the National Chairman of the party, Umar Ganduje and National Secretary, Senator Bashir Ajibola   The request, however was put to voice votes by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and was supported by all the APC senators.

Biden condemns assassination attempt on Trump, speaks with injured Ex-President

President Joe Biden has said that ‘everybody must condemn’ the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.   Speaking to the nation approximately two hours after the incident on Saturday, Biden expressed relief that Trump is reportedly recovering well.
