19-Year-Old Yaqub Usman-Malah Joins Brito Sporting Club

In a significant move for his budding football career, 19-year-old Nigerian-born footballer Yaqub Usman-Malah has signed with Brito Sporting Club of Portugal. The official announcement and unveiling ceremony took place on January 4, 2025, marking a new chapter for the promising young athlete.

 

Yaqub, born in Nigeria in 2006, has shown immense potential and talent from an early age. Prior to his recent signing, he honed his skills at the Brooke College Football Academy in the United Kingdom, where he made a notable impact. His impressive record includes 17 goals in 32 matches, with no injuries over 116 training days, accumulating 2,270 minutes of playing time.

Tomasz Wasylik, the lead coach of the Under-17B team at Brooke College, praised Yaqub’s professionalism and versatility on the field. “Yaqub is not only a well-liked individual but also a role model for his teammates due to his unmatched work ethic. His tactical acumen and technical skills allow him to excel in multiple positions,” Coach Wasylik noted.

 

Yaqub’s performances in the National School Cup competitions further demonstrated his capabilities, earning him recognition and a spot at Brito Sporting Club. His father, Mr. Usman Malah, expressed pride and optimism about Yaqub’s future, stating, “We are confident that Yaqub will harness his talents and achieve greatness at his new club.”
