The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), has fined DAAR Communications (owner of AIT/Raypower) N500,000 for persistent violation of the provisions of the Nigeria Broadcasting Code. NBC’s Head of Public Affair, Maimuna Jimada, via a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja, said comments made on Raypower’s programme “Political Platform” was against the broadcasting code. Senate adjourns plenary till September

The Senate has adjourned it’s plenary for two months. The adjournment follows recent attacks on the leadership of the Senate. Senate President Bukola Saraki made the announcement on Tuesday. The adjournment is part of the prayers of a motion on the siege on Mr Saraki and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu. The lawmakers are to reconvene on September 25.
