In preparation for the effective and successful 2023 Population and Housing Census exercise scheduled to hold in May 2023, the National Population Commission NPC today engaged Bloggers and Social Media Influencers to a 1-day interactive workshop at the National Population Commission (NPC) Headquarters,Abuja.
The workshop had in attendance Bloggers, Online Media and Social Media Influencers including some members of Nollywood and other critical stakeholders.
While declaring open the workshop,the Chairman, National Population Commission,Hon.Nasiru Isa Kwarra who was represented by his Senior Special Assistant, Hussein Isyaku, seek participants support towards a successful 2023 Population and Housing Census ,he enjoined them to use various platforms at their disposal to reach out to all Nigerians.
While presenting his paper titled: ‘Enumeration Area Demarcation/Process and Methodology of the 2023 Population and Housing Census,the Population Manager,, Dr Inuwa Jalingo said no fewer than 1,000 hackers invaded the National Population Commission, NPC Server as the Commission prepared for the 2023 Population and Housing Census.
Dr Jalingo said the NPC was able to put the situation under control through what he described as ‘Specialized workforce, ICT classes and mop-up phase’.
The workshop is organized by National Population Commission in collaboration with the National Orientation Agency (NOA).
Recall the last population census exercise held in 2006,and the exercise attracted outcries and legal battles
