2025 UTME: UNILORIN Alumni applaud JAMB Registrar, Prof Oloyede, for Exemplary Leadership

The University of Ilorin Alumni Association has commended the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, for his display of exceptional leadership and accountability during the challenges experienced in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

In a statement signed by its National President, Prof. AbdulRasak Kilani, the association lauded Prof. Oloyede’s decision to admit the glitches recorded during the conduct of the examination, despite the failures being attributed to external service providers.

“Prof. Oloyede’s action in accepting responsibility, rather than sweeping the matter under the carpet, is a commendable demonstration of integrity and leadership rarely seen in public service,” the statement read.

The alumni association noted that the JAMB Registrar swiftly mobilised the necessary resources to trace the causes of the technical disruptions, a move they described as responsible and honourable.

“His transparent approach reflects honesty and reinforces the confidence of Nigerians in JAMB’s leadership under his watch. This is the kind of leadership needed for institutional growth and national development,” Kilani said.

While commending the Registrar, the association also called for the identification and sanctioning of the service providers whose negligence caused reputational damage to the examination body.

The association reaffirmed its support for Prof. Oloyede and urged other public office holders to emulate his sense of responsibility and integrity.
