The Executive Committee members of the 38 Regular Course Association on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Idi Abbas (Admiralty Medal), at the Naval Headquarters, Abuja.

The delegation was led by the President of the Association, Rear Admiral S. O. Agada (rtd), who congratulated Vice Admiral Abbas on his appointment as Chief of the Naval Staff. He also formally informed the CNS of the Association’s recent change in leadership.
Rear Admiral Agada stated that the visit was to express the Association’s appreciation to the Nigerian Navy for the consistent support it has received from successive naval leadership during its engagements and activities. He highlighted some of the challenges confronting the Association, as well as opportunities for growth, particularly in the area of members’ welfare.
The Association President used the occasion to encourage serving officers to strengthen the financial base of their respective course associations, noting that a robust financial structure would help address welfare-related concerns, including health-related challenges.
In his response, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for the visit. He concurred with the observations of the Course President and commended the 38 Regular Course Association for its cohesion, unity, and commitment to the welfare of its members.
The CNS assured the delegation of his support where possible and encouraged the Association to continue promoting unity, mutual support, and professionalism among its members. He further urged the Association to sustain its positive engagement with the Nigerian Navy in advancing shared institutional values and objectives.
