President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has extended his condolences to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, on the death of his mother, Mrs. Lydia Yilwatda.
In a message issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio described the late octogenarian as a caring and loving mother who made sacrifices for her children and the larger family.
The Senate President noted that although Mama Lydia died at the age of 83, her motherly counsel and guidance were still needed by her son and the current generation.
Akpabio paid tribute to her life of service, recalling her role alongside her late husband, Rev. Toma Yilwatda, in raising children who are today contributing meaningfully to national development.
“Mama Lydia will forever be remembered for her legacies as a pillar of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), particularly its women’s wing, and as the mother of the national chairman of the ruling party. Her death is a big loss to the Yilwatda family, the good people of Plateau State, and indeed the entire nation,” Akpabio stated.
He further prayed for the repose of her soul and for divine comfort for the family during this period of mourning.
