The Nigeria Police Force has announced the participation of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, at the commissioning of key infrastructure and security projects in Ogun State, in a move aimed at strengthening safety and operational efficiency in the region.
The event, which drew top government officials and security stakeholders, highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing security challenges. According to Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Okon Placid, the IGP’s presence underscored the strategic relevance of Ogun State in national security planning and the commitment of the police to safeguarding lives and property.
A major highlight of the commissioning was the unveiling of newly acquired security vehicles and electric motorbikes. These assets are expected to significantly enhance the operational capacity of law enforcement agencies by improving rapid response and increasing patrol coverage across the state.
Speaking at the event, the IGP commended the Ogun State Government for its proactive stance on security development. He emphasized that equipping the police with modern tools remains essential to maintaining peace and public order.
Reaffirming the Force’s commitment, Disu assured citizens that the Nigeria Police Force would continue to collaborate with state authorities and the Federal Government to tackle evolving security threats. He reiterated that the Force remains dedicated to protecting lives, supporting national development, and ensuring a secure environment nationwide.
The Police also expressed appreciation to the Ogun State Governor and other dignitaries for their sustained support in advancing security initiatives. Residents were urged to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and promptly report suspicious activities as part of collective efforts to ensure community safety.
