The Abuja Muslim Forum has called on the Nigerian government, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), and other relevant stakeholders to prioritize the welfare of Nigerian pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage.
In a statement signed by the Amir, Alh. Abdulrazaq Ajani, the forum expressed gratitude for the efforts already made by the government and NAHCON in preparing for the pilgrimage. However, it emphasized the need for further attention to the well-being of the pilgrims, urged that their comfort and safety be given the utmost priority.
The forum specifically highlighted the need for affordable Hajj fares, given the current economic challenges many Nigerians are facing. It also called for the provision of safe, comfortable accommodations close to the holy sites in Makkah and Madinah to ease the physical strain of the journey.
The forum further emphasized the importance of efficient transportation systems within Saudi Arabia, particularly during critical moments of the pilgrimage such as the rites at Arafat, Muzdalifah, and Mina.
The statement also underscored the necessity of robust healthcare services, including medical personnel and emergency support, to cater to the health needs of pilgrims.
The Abuja Muslim Forum concluded by stressing that ensuring the welfare of pilgrims is not only a logistical necessity but a religious duty. It offered prayers for the success of the 2025 Hajj season, hoping for a safe, smooth, and spiritually fulfilling experience for all pilgrims.
