The Atum Humanitarian Anti-Corruption & Charitable Initiative (AHACCI) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering commitment to eradicating corruption and promoting good governance in Nigeria.
In a statement on Thursday, AHACCI Director General, Ambassador Ismaila Yusuf Atus, said the current administration is setting a new tone for transparency and accountability, with reforms that are beginning to yield measurable results.
Atus noted that Nigeria’s rise in the 2024 Transparency International (TI) Corruption Perception Index from 145th to 140th is a testament to the President’s strategic policies and decisive actions against graft.
“President Tinubu’s reforms are clearly restoring faith in our institutions. The leap in TI’s rankings reflects the global community’s growing confidence in Nigeria’s governance under his leadership,” Atus stated.
He praised the government for empowering anti-corruption agencies through increased funding and operational independence, as well as for implementing economic measures aimed at addressing the root causes of corruption, such as poverty, inequality, and institutional weaknesses.
“These initiatives, including the student loan scheme, credit guarantee system, higher minimum wage, and affordable housing for civil servants, are not just economic tools they are weapons against corruption,” he said.
The AHACCI DG also lauded efforts to fast-track corruption case prosecutions and reform the justice sector, stressing that speed and fairness in legal processes are essential for public trust.
Atus called on civil society, traditional rulers, the media, and youth to actively support the anti-corruption campaign, emphasising that sustainable progress requires collective responsibility.
“A strong foundation has been laid; it is now up to every patriotic Nigerian to play their part in building a just and prosperous country,” he added.
