AIG commissions PCRC-built entrance gate at Zone 7 Police Headquarters

The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja, Victor Olaiya, has commissioned a newly constructed main entrance gate and security post at the command’s headquarters.

The commissioning, which was carried out on his behalf by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zonal CID, DCP Oluyemi Ajayi, marked another milestone in strengthening security and infrastructure within the Nigeria Police Force.

The project was executed by the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) as part of its continuous support for the police and its commitment to fostering strong police–community relations.

Speaking during the ceremony, AIG Olaiya commended the PCRC for its dedication and consistent support. He noted that the new gate and security post would improve access control, enhance security, and boost the overall outlook of the headquarters.

In his remarks, the National Chairman of the PCRC, Alhaji Mogaji Olaniyan, said the project reflected the Committee’s resolve to promote safer communities and deepen public trust in the Police. He added that sustained collaboration between the police and the public remains vital to effective policing.

Similarly, the Zone 7 PCRC Chairman, Chief Otunba Bolaji Adigun, appreciated members and relevant departments for their collective efforts in ensuring the successful completion of the project.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by senior police officers, national and zonal PCRC executives, stakeholders, and other invited guests.

The event concluded with the formal handover of the facility for official use, underscoring the growing partnership between the Nigeria Police Force and the PCRC in promoting security, professionalism, and community engagement.
