President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has congratulated Mr. Eze Anaba, Editor of Vanguard Newspapers, on his re-election as President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE).
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio described Anaba’s re-election as a resounding vote of confidence, noting his professionalism, ethical standards, and dedication to journalism.
Akpabio commended Anaba as a “square peg in a square hole” and assured the Guild of the National Assembly’s commitment to upholding free speech and promoting good governance through collaboration with credible media institutions.
He urged the NGE to work with stakeholders to rid the profession of quacks and fake news peddlers, while wishing Anaba and the newly elected executives a successful tenure.
“On behalf of my family, the 10th Senate and the National Assembly, I heartily congratulate Mr. Eze Anaba and the newly elected executive of the NGE,” Akpabio stated.
