President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, described the departed monarch as a man of integrity who lived a good life.
Oba Olakulehin passed away on Monday at the age of 90, marking the end of a reign that, though brief, left a lasting impact on the people of Ibadan and the traditional institution in Oyo State.
In a condolence message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, the Senate President said the monarch’s death came at a time when his wise and elderly counsel was most needed.
“On behalf of my family, the Senate, and the National Assembly, I wish to express my deepest condolences to the family, friends, and subjects of the late Olubadan of Ibadan and the government of Oyo State, especially Governor Seyi Makinde,” Akpabio stated.
He noted that despite reigning for only one year, the late Olubadan’s leadership left “an indelible mark” on his subjects and the people of Oyo State.
“His integrity was never in doubt as he stood for the truth, justice, and fairness,” Akpabio added.
He concluded by praying that Almighty God grant the monarch eternal rest and comforts his family during this period of mourning.
