The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, has congratulated the Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Yusuf Tanko Sununu, on the occasion of his 59th birthday, describing him as a distinguished patriot and dedicated public servant committed to national development.

In a congratulatory message, the SGF commended Dr. Sununu’s extensive career spanning the healthcare sector, the legislature and the executive arm of government, noting that his contributions reflect a people-centred approach to governance and a strong commitment to nation-building.
Senator Akume praised the minister’s efforts in advancing policies and interventions aimed at poverty alleviation, social protection and support for vulnerable Nigerians through the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
He noted that the initiatives align with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which prioritises inclusive development and improved welfare for citizens.

Describing Dr. Sununu as a mentor and bridge-builder, the SGF said his leadership continues to inspire younger generations while strengthening democratic ideals and promoting development within his constituency and across the North-West region.
