APC Chair Nentawe hails Northern Minority groups’ backing for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yiltwada, has applauded the support of minority ethnic groups in Northern Nigeria for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, described their stance as patriotic and reflective of confidence in the administration’s direction.

Prof. Yiltwada, represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr. Mustapha Bala Dawaki, gave the commendation in Abuja while receiving leaders of the Northern Nigeria Minorities Group (NNMG), led by its Convener, Chief Jacob Edi, during a courtesy visit to the APC National Secretariat.

The APC National Chairman said the group’s independent mobilisation for President Tinubu demonstrates a clear appreciation of the administration’s policies and achievements. He added that the unwavering support shown by the NNMG reveals a genuine commitment to national development, noting that he has followed the group’s activities closely and observed its consistent contributions to promoting the APC-led government.

“For this group to devote its time and resources to supporting the Tinubu administration without any prompting shows patriotism and sincerity of purpose,” Yiltwada said. “It reflects a deep understanding of the work being done and a desire to see Nigeria progress.”

Speaking earlier, Chief Jacob Edi said the NNMG was established to champion initiatives that improve citizens’ welfare, noting that President Tinubu’s fairness in project distribution and appointments had positively impacted minority ethnic communities in the North. He said the administration’s actions ranging from education and infrastructure to inclusion in key national roles have strengthened the confidence of minority groups in the President’s leadership.

Edi stressed that the NNMG, which representative over 200 minority ethnic groups across the 19 northern states, is committed to ensuring a comprehensive and convincing victory for President Tinubu in 2027. According to him, the group is prepared to work tirelessly to deliver overwhelming support that would consolidate the nation’s progress and silence doubters.

At the end of the visit, the group presented a symbolic membership card to the APC National Chairman and formally requested him to serve as its patron.
