The Senior Special Assistant on Public Enlightenment to the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Chief Oliver Okpala, has condemned the recent attacks on Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the APC and Chairman of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
Chief Okpala criticized the Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado, for allegedly engaging in a smear campaign against Dr. Ganduje following his appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement released on Monday, Chief Okpala described the attacks as baseless, emphasized that the era of political antagonism and vendetta in Nigeria was over. He accused Rimingado of pursuing personal animosity under the guise of public service, noted that such actions undermined political progress and national unity.
“President Tinubu’s appointment of Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje as Chairman of FAAN is a well-deserved placement that reflects his outstanding contributions to nation-building and leadership. “It is disheartening that individuals like Rimingado choose to launch baseless attacks rather than celebrate the strides made by Ganduje in public service.”Okpala stated.
He further highlighted Ganduje’s accomplishments as a two-term Governor of Kano State and his continued commitment to national development, adding that Rimingado’s alleged vendetta stems from political bias and personal grudges.
Okpala urged Nigerians to focus on fostering political decorum, peace, and progress while discouraging divisive tactics. He commended President Tinubu for recognizing Ganduje’s dedication to good governance and expressed confidence in the National Chairman’s capacity to deliver transformative leadership at FAAN.
“Nigerians should ignore the likes of Rimingado, whose attempts to tarnish Ganduje’s legacy will ultimately fail. Dr. Ganduje’s remarkable track record and leadership qualities will continue to shine in his new role,” he concluded.
