The All Progressives Congress (APC) has debunked reports suggesting that the 13th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on February 26, 2025, was President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s first attendance since assuming office.
In a press statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, Esq., the APC clarified that the recent meeting marked President Tinubu’s second participation in the NEC meeting.
The statement recalled that the President attended his first NEC meeting on August 3, 2023, where Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Senator Ajibola Basiru were elected as the party’s National Chairman and National Secretary, respectively.
The party urged the public and media organizations to always verify information before publication, stressing the importance of factual reporting.
“This statement is made to set the record straight and correct inaccurate reports in some sections of the media,” the statement read.
The APC therefore reiterated its commitment to transparency and unity under President Tinubu’s leadership.
