The All Progressives Congress (APC) has elected a new set of national executives at its 2026 National Convention held in Abuja, with Professor Nentawe Yilwatda emerging as the party’s National Chairman.
Yilwatda will be supported by two Deputy National Chairmen—Ali Bukar Dalori (North) and Dr. Benjamin Obi Nwoye (South). Former Senate spokesperson, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, was elected as the National Secretary, alongside Prof. AbdulKarim Abubakar Kana as Deputy National Secretary.
Other key positions saw Murtala Aliyu Kankia emerge as National Legal Adviser, Uguru Mathew Ofoke as National Treasurer, and Ambassador Haruna Ginsau as National Financial Secretary. Muhammad Sulaiman Argungu was elected National Organising Secretary, while Donatus Enyinnah Nwankpa became National Welfare Secretary.
Felix Morka retained his position as National Publicity Secretary, and Senator Abubakar Maikafi was elected National Auditor. Dr. Mary A. Idele and Dayo Isreal emerged as National Women Leader and National Youth Leader respectively, while Aare Durotolu Oyebode Bankole was elected National Leader for Persons with Disabilities.
The convention also produced several deputy national officers and zonal ex-official members representing the six geopolitical zones, completing the party’s new leadership structure.
