The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday passed a vote of confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commending his administration’s performance in steering the nation towards economic recovery.
The meeting, held in Abuja, saw President Tinubu expressed his gratitude for the recognition while reaffirming his commitment to working harder for Nigeria’s progress.
“I am happy with your vote of confidence, and I accept it. The vote is a challenge to do more work; we will vigorously pursue our sovereignty in food security, investment, and development,” the President said.
Highlighting the administration’s ongoing efforts, President Tinubu noted that food prices were beginning to drop, especially ahead of the Ramadan fasting period, while the country was witnessing gradual economic stability.
He applauded the APC governors, members of the National Assembly, and party leaders for their unwavering support, pledging to collaborate with all arms of government to deliver quality governance.
“We can only build the party on a progressive platform to deliver good service to Nigerians,” he added.
The APC National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, lauded party members for their steadfastness despite the prevailing challenges, assuring that the party remained focused on fulfilling its electoral promises.
In their separate remarks, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas pledged the legislature’s continued support for the President’s economic and developmental reforms.
The NEC meeting followed the APC Caucus meeting held the previous night, where party leaders commended the administration for achieving a 3.84% GDP growth in the last quarter of 2024 and curbing inflation.
