APC’s victory at Bye-Elections reflects party’s nationwide acceptability – Senator Imasuen

By James Isaac, Abuja

The Senator representing Edo South Senatorial District, Neda Imasuen, has attributed the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s sweeping victory at the just concluded bye-elections across the country, particularly in Edo State, to the wide acceptability of the party at both state and national levels.

Speaking on the outcome of the polls, Senator Imasuen noted that the performance of the government, especially in the areas of bold policy decisions, played a key role in endearing the masses to the APC. He cited the removal of fuel subsidy and the passage of tax reform bills, which past administrations failed to implement due to lack of political will, as major contributors to the party’s electoral success.

On the outcome of the elections in Edo State where the APC recorded a hundred percent victory, Senator Imasuen observed that while the party engaged the electorate with its policies and programmes, opposition political parties were largely absent in mobilizing support.

Senator-Elect for Edo Central, Joseph Ikpea,

Highlighting the role of leadership, the lawmaker commended the executive governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for raising the bar of governance with his high-performance record, which, according to him, has earned the confidence of the people.

“With the good outing of the party at the polls, if this trajectory continues and the President sustains his people-oriented policies, there is no doubt he will secure re-election in 2027,” Senator Imasuen said.

Similarly, the Senator-Elect for Edo Central, Joseph Ikpea, described the peaceful and orderly conduct of the elections as a reflection of the people’s acceptance of government policies. He stressed that the exercise was devoid of thuggery, vote buying, intimidation, and ballot snatching.

Ikpea further assured that his victory was a call to continue the legacies of his service as a council chairman, pledged to match the performance benchmark already set by Governor Okpebholo in delivering quality governance to the people.
