The National Amir of El-Birru Muslim Association Of Nigeria(EMAN),Arc. Abdulyekeen Mamman has charged Muslims to ensure that their source of livelihood is purely Halal , even as finance remain important in everyday life as a Vicegerent of Allah on earth.
Arc.Abdulyekeen Mamman gave this charge while presenting his welcome address at El-Birru Muslim Association of Nigeria(EMAN) 3rd Skills Acquisition/ Training held Saturday 22nd -23rd October, 2022 ,(26th-27th Rabiul-awwal 1444AH)at islamic centre ,Okene, Kogi State where 147 Participants from Kogi Central were trained on Skills Acquisition/Training.
EMAN National Amir maintained that efforts to be obedient to serve Allah (SWT) through religion of Islam by abiding on the injunctions of Holy Qur’an and Sunnahs of that of beloved Prophet Mohammad (SAW) can never be compromised.
“We need to remind ourselves of our Roles as a Faith-Based Organisation to teach on how to be Self Reliant , remember the popular saying ; “An Idle Mind is a Devil Worksop,” therefore bringing to our door steps those that matters in Business Development in our dear Country to teach us on “how to catch the fish and not only how to eat the fish” should go a long way to remodel our sources of survival and modest livelihoods.
“I wish to briefly remind us on the needs for our Effective participation in the Activities of Kogi Enterprises Development Agency (KEDA) ,Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), National Directorate of Employment (NDE) , All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) and Qarnain Agro-Allied Company.
“The primary and fundamental purpose of EMAN Skills Acquisition Training in Collaboration with the above Agencies is to impact Knowledge and Skills that mitigate the level of poverty in Kogi Central and beyond.
“Entrepreneurship is more than the mere creation of business, it is having the tenacity to push all ideal ideas through to reality in a creative and innovative manner for all ages.Therefore EMAN opening up the following 7 Major Skills on: Fisheries, Poultry, Fruits Making (Smoodies) ,Soap Making, Essential Oil Making, Modern/Latest Farming Techniques and ICT Training for about 100 Participants Across the 5 LGA’s in Kogi Central and beyond cannot be undermined.
“Islam as we all know permits only legitimate business in line with the Qur’anic quotation below;”O you who believe, Eat not up your prosperity among yourself unjustly except it may be traded amongst you by mutual consent”.(Part No.5, Surah No.4 Verse No. 29).
“We seek your indulgence to be attentive, take note of all important lessons to be delivered by our Resources Persons and try to make practical use of the knowledge and skills to be acquired at this occasion.
“May Allah (SWT) make the Training beneficial Fiduniya wal Akhirah and make our communities strong economically and also enable us self-reliance as we make bold to make our hopes on Allah alone for our sustenance towards our financial obligations…Oh Allah grant us the wisdom to know our acts of concealments that lead to sustainable livelihood and halal earnings”.Arc Abdulyekeen Mamman explained.
