The Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) have recorded major breakthroughs in a series of coordinated operations conducted across the country between 3 and 14 November 2025. The sustained offensives, carried out simultaneously in all six geo-political zones, targeted terrorists, bandits, oil thieves and other criminal networks undermining national security.
Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Olatokunbo Bello, who disclosed this in the weekly update on Friday, said troops maintained aggressive momentum throughout the period under review, recovered a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, improvised explosive device components and other material used by criminal groups. He added that the operations succeeded in disrupting terrorists’ movements, destroying their hideouts and dismantling their support systems.
In the North East, troops of Operation Hadin Kai, supported by air assets, hybrid forces and community security groups, conducted several coordinated strikes across multiple local government areas in Borno and Adamawa States. The operations, which spanned Monguno, Gwoza, Bama, Nganzai, Damboa, Chibok, Biu, Mubi South and Hong, resulted in the killing of numerous Boko Haram, ISWAP and JAS fighters. Forty-five of their informants, collaborators and logistics handlers were arrested, while a kidnapped victim was safely rescued. Multiple camps and vehicles used by the terrorists were destroyed.
Similar success was recorded in the North West under Operation Fagge San Yamma, where sustained engagements in Sokoto, Zamfara, Niger, Katsina, Kebbi and Kano States led to the elimination of several terrorists, the arrest of two others and the rescue of 13 kidnapped victims. Troops also recovered weapons, motorcycles, vehicles, livestock and other items abandoned by fleeing criminals.
In the North Central region, troops of Operation Enduring Peace responded to distress calls and launched offensive actions in parts of Plateau and Kaduna States. Extremists were neutralised during these encounters, 16 suspects were arrested and five kidnapped victims were freed. A breakthrough was recorded on 9 November with the arrest of a notorious suspect, Ibrahim Wakili, long on the watchlist, during a raid in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Arms and ammunition were seized from his hideout.
Troops under Operation Whirl Stroke expanded the security sweep in Kogi, Kwara, Benue, Nasarawa and Taraba States, where several criminals were killed, 10 suspects were taken into custody and 48 kidnapped victims were rescued. Further operations in Wamba and Doma, Nasarawa State, led to the arrest of two gunrunners and two extremist collaborators, as well as the recovery of additional arms.
In the South South, troops of Operation Delta Safe disrupted oil theft operations valued at more than ₦15.8 million. They uncovered thousands of litres of stolen crude and illegally refined AGO, and destroyed several illegal refining sites, ovens, storage facilities and dugout pits. Five suspects were arrested during the week, while more criminals were detained following separate operations in Bayelsa and Delta States.
Troops maintained a strong offensive posture in the South East under Operation UDO KA, conducting raids in parts of Imo, Enugu, Akwa Ibom and Cross River States. One terrorist was killed during an encounter, while seven suspects linked to violent activities were arrested.
Major General Bello urged the media to amplify the operational successes and reassured Nigerians of the military’s commitment to restoring peace and stability across the country.
